Things to Know About Your Warranty

Summary

Setavento are very proud of the quality of our products and are determined to ensure that our customers enjoy them to the full. However, life being imperfect occasionally things go wrong. Here's what you need to know if they do:

	We stand by our products and our warranties. If your frame or component is within the warranty period we'll repair or replace it. If you bought a titanium frame from us and you're reading this, relax, your frame is covered by a lifetime warranty.
	All Setavento titanium bicycle frames are guaranteed for life. That's the life of the original registered legal owner, corporate owners excepted (see below if you're a company frame owner).
	What's more, if you have bust your Setavento titanium frame and it's your fault we'll replace it for just half the price of your original frame. See our Ow!-I've-Smashed-My-Frame-Replacement-Program below.
	All Setavento aluminium bicycle frames are guaranteed for three (3) years. This is because aluminium is more fragile than titanium and fatigues with use. That's the law of metallurgy. Aluminium frames are, however, lighter and less expensive to manufacture than equivalent titanium frames. They just don't last as long.
	All Setavento branded products are guaranteed for one (1) year from the date of purchase. They will however last far longer if you look after them!

Detailed Stuff

TITANIUM FRAMES Your Setavento titanium frame is warranted against any manufacturing defects in materials and/or workmanship for as long as you, the original purchaser, own it. Setavento reserves the right to repair or replace, at our discretion, any defective frame with the same model or a comparable model from the current product range. In the case of custom made frames we will replace the defective frame with a new custom made frame constructed to the same specification as the customer's original or provide a full cash refund, at our discretion. In the case that a company or other legal entity other than an individual person owns the frame the guarantee is for a period of twenty-five (25) years.

OTHER FRAMES Your Setavento frame (including aluminum and steel) is warranted against any manufacturing defects in materials and/or workmanship for a period of three (3) years to the original purchas. We will repair or replace, at our discretion, any defective frame with the same or a comparable model from the current product range.

SETAVENTO COMPONENTS Setavento branded components are warranted against any manufacturing defects in materials and/or workmanship for a period of one (1) year to the original purchaser. In the event of a defect we will repair or replace, at our discretion, any defective component with the same or comparable model whereever possible. Where a product is no longer available we will provide a cash refund to the value of the full original purchase price excluding shipping costs and import taxes outside of the European Union.

FRAME FINISHING Any finishes on your frame applied by Setavento (paint and decals) are warranted against any manufacturing defects in materials and/or workmanship for one year from date of purchase. Scratches, dents, and abrasions caused by use or handling are not considered defects.

COMPONENTS All components other than your Setavento frame or Setavento branded components bear their manufacturer's own warranty. Any claims should be directed to the relevant manufacturer's customer service department.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, normal maintenance items, any damage, failure, or loss caused by accident, neglect, abuse, improper assembly or improper maintenance, the use parts or devices not consistent with the original intent for the product sold, failure to follow instructions for installation, assembly, or use.

WARRANTY VOID Setavento's products, whether frames or components, are not intended for use in stunt riding, ramp jumping, acrobatics or similar activities, or with motors or power-driven vehicles. This warranty is VOID where the Setavento component or frame has been used in any of these ways. NOTICE: The user assumes the risk of personal injuries, damages to or failures of the product, and any other losses if the Setavento frame or component has been used in any such fashion.

NO LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES In no event shall Setavento be liable for incidental or consequential damages. This exclusion does not apply for countries or states that do not allow such exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or if the above limitation or exclusion is not applicable.

WHAT TO DO Proof of purchase or prior warranty registration is required for validating of protection under this limited warranty. If you need to make a warranty claim please email warranties at setavento.com with your contact information, including telephone number, so we can call you to validate the warranty and process your claim.

OW!-I'VE-SMASHED-MY-FRAME-REPLACEMENT-PROGRAM
Bicycle accidents happen.  Our founder has a traditional scar on his chin from a face plant in his youth  [ and the usual scars on knee, elbows, hip...! JL ] and appreciates this obvious fact of cycling life. At Setavento we all know that feeling when the pain subsides and you climb out of the hedge back onto the road to inspect the wreckage knowing it could be very expensive! So to lessen the shock we provide a "OW!-I'VE-SMASHED-MY-FRAME-REPLACEMENT-PROGRAM" for all our titanium frames. For just 50% of the original purchase price we'll send you a new titanium frame of the same or equivalent model.

WHAT TO DO
In the event of an unintentional smash please email bustit.claim at setavento.com with details of your smash, the frame number, and your telephone number. We will be in touch to arrange return of your smashed frame for a replacement. But do yourself a favour.  No more heroics!  :-)  This offer only applies once per customer per lifetime!
